Compare Ollie
Most apps for actors are built around the audition. Ollie is built around learning the whole part. Here's how it stacks up.
Last updated November 2026
Why pick Ollie
Built for a whole part
Upload the full script and Ollie finds the scenes and characters. Hear it, run it with first letters or your lines hidden, then test yourself.
It tracks what you've learned
Test me hides your lines, scores each one you say, and keeps a record, so you know where to spend your next 20 minutes.
Your cast, live
Group mode is available now. Castmates join from their own devices, and Ollie reads any part nobody's covering.
Free to start
Standard voices run in your browser, so there's no per-minute charge for repeating a scene. Ollie is in an invite-only beta, and the demo is open to anyone.

What's here, and what's next
Group mode
Available nowYour cast joins from their own devices and rehearses the same scene together, wherever they are. Ollie reads any part nobody's covering.
Director mode
Coming soonDirectors upload the play, invite their cast into their roles, and see each actor's rehearsal time and memorization progress, then leave line notes and role notes right on the script. Cast members can join just for that production and keep their own Ollie account too.
iOS app
Coming soonOllie already runs in your iPhone's browser. An iOS app is on the way.
Self-tape
Coming soonOllie reads the other parts while you put yourself on tape, so the scene you've learned is the scene you record.
How to choose a line-learning app
- What are you learning for?
- A two-page audition tomorrow and a six-week part are different jobs. Ollie is built for the second.
- How is it priced while you repeat yourself?
- Memorizing means saying the same lines over and over. If an app charges by the minute or the hour, work out what a long part would cost, and ask whether a repeat costs anything once a line has been generated. Check any free-plan limits too.
- Does it check your work?
- Hiding your lines helps you practice. Knowing which lines actually held up helps you decide what to practice next, and not every app keeps that record.
- Can it read your script?
- Try your real script, not a sample. Stage plays, scanned PDFs and unusual formatting are where script parsing tends to go wrong.
- Where does your script go?
- Scripts are often unpublished or under license. Read the privacy policy and check who processes your text and voice, and whether either is used to train AI models.
Want the technique rather than the tools? Start with how to learn a whole play.
Try a scene now, then bring your script.
Upload your script and Ollie reads every other part out loud, waits for you to say your lines, and keeps track of the ones you've really learned. Ollie is in an invite-only beta, and the demo needs no sign-up.
